Privacy Policy and Terms of Use for namepop.net

Effective Date: January 18, 2026

namepop.net, owned and operated by Meramec Entertainment, LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), is a private, invitation-only social platform designed to foster a safe, positive community for adults and supervised minors aged 13 and older in the music industry, with a focus on independent artists. This document consists of two parts: (1) the Privacy Policy, which governs how we collect, use, and protect your personal information, and (2) the Terms of Use, which outline the rules for using the platform, including intellectual property rights, licensing, and liability. By accessing or using namepop.net, you agree to both the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

We recommend reviewing these documents carefully. For users aged 13-16, parental consent is required, as detailed below. Changes to these documents will be posted on the platform with notice; continued use constitutes acceptance.

Part 1: Privacy Policy

1. Age Requirements and Consent

  • Adults (18+): Full access to all platform features.
  • Teens (17): Access is permitted with the understanding that parents or guardians should monitor activity.
  • Youth Members (13–16): Membership requires verifiable parental consent. We require explicit permission from a parent or guardian through methods such as:
    • Parent email verification
    • A signed consent form
    • Other reasonable steps to confirm guardian approval
  • Parental monitoring is encouraged.
  • Users under 13 are not permitted to join or use the platform in accordance with federal and state child privacy protections, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

For users aged 13-16, parental consent must specifically include approval for data collection beyond what is essential for platform operation and for uploading any Music Content (as defined in the Terms of Use). Consent must be renewed annually or upon material changes to this Privacy Policy.

2. Information Collection & Use

All Users

We collect basic account information such as usernames, email addresses, and content you choose to post (photos, comments, etc.). We may also collect metadata from uploads (e.g., file properties) solely to enforce compliance with our Terms of Use, including copyright rules. Data is retained only as long as necessary to operate the platform and is deleted upon account termination or prolonged inactivity (typically after 12 months). We use reasonable security measures—including encryption and access controls—to protect user information.

Youth Members (13–16)

We do not track precise geolocation or use youth data for targeted behavioral advertising. Parental consent includes approval for any data collection beyond what is essential for platform operation. Youth data is never shared with third parties without separate opt-in consent where applicable.

3. Advertising Policy

namepop.net features local advertising from area businesses.

  • Adults and Teens (17): May see ads based on general profile information.
  • Youth Members (13–16): Will only see contextual ads—general advertisements shown to the entire community. We do not track youth members for advertising purposes, and we do not share youth data with third-party advertisers. Targeted advertising to minors is strictly prohibited.

Advertisements may include licensed music, but we do not use user-uploaded Music Content in ads without explicit permission and a separate agreement.

4. Parental Controls

Parents or guardians of users aged 13–16 have the right to:

  • Review their child’s information
  • Request deletion of their child’s data
  • Refuse further collection or use of their child’s information

For users aged 13–16, parents may revoke consent at any time. Upon revocation, we will promptly remove the minor's account, data, and any associated Music Content. To exercise these rights, please contact us through the Contact Us page. We encourage parents to discuss responsible online behavior with their children.

5. Data Sharing and Security

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties except as necessary for platform operation (e.g., service providers bound by confidentiality) or as required by law. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, user data may be transferred.

We implement industry-standard security measures, but no system is infallible. You acknowledge that you provide information at your own risk.

Part 2: Terms of Use

1. Membership Discretion & Right to Refuse Service

namepop.net is a private, invitation-only community. Meramec Entertainment, LLC reserves the right to deny membership, suspend access, or terminate any account at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion, including but not limited to suspected copyright infringement, repeat DMCA notices, or violations of these Terms.

We are especially selective regarding the membership of minors to ensure a safe and positive environment. This may include verifying age and parental consent during signup. Membership is a privilege, not a right, and may be revoked without prior notice if we believe doing so protects the safety or integrity of the community.

We have no obligation to monitor user content but reserve the right to review and remove any that violates these Terms.

2. Member Music Uploads, Ownership, and Licensing

Members may upload and share their own music, audio recordings, or other creative works (“Music Content”) on namepop.net. By uploading Music Content, you represent and warrant that:

  • You are the creator and rights-holder of the material, or
  • You have obtained all necessary rights, permissions, and licenses to upload and share it, including but not limited to copyrights for sound recordings, compositions, samples, lyrics, and any third-party elements.
  • Your Music Content does not infringe any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights.

You may not upload Music Content that includes unauthorized samples, covers without mechanical licenses, or derivatives without permission from original rights holders.

You retain full ownership of all Music Content you upload. By posting Music Content on namepop.net, you grant Meramec Entertainment, LLC a limited, non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable, royalty-free license to host, store, and display your content solely within the namepop.net platform for the purpose of operating the service. This license does not permit us to sell, distribute, or publicly broadcast your music outside the platform. The license terminates upon removal of your Music Content or account termination. We do not claim any ownership in your Music Content.

If you wish to have your music considered for airplay on 76Country.com or Mix76.com, a separate Music License Agreement or Royalty Release Form will be required. This ensures that any broadcast use of your music is properly authorized. Members may request this agreement through the Contact Us page.

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your Music Content does not infringe on the rights of any third party. Meramec Entertainment, LLC may remove Music Content that appears to violate copyright, licensing rules, or community standards.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Meramec Entertainment, LLC, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys' fees) arising from your Music Content or breach of these warranties.

3. Download Permission & Liability

Some Music Content uploaded to namepop.net may be available for download by other members. By uploading music or audio files, you grant Meramec Entertainment, LLC and all authorized members of namepop.net permission to download your content for personal, non-commercial use within the private community. You acknowledge that downloaded files may be stored on members’ personal devices and that namepop.net cannot control or monitor how those files are used once downloaded.

You agree that you are solely responsible for ensuring you have the rights to share downloadable content. Meramec Entertainment, LLC is not liable for any unauthorized copying, redistribution, or misuse of your content by other members or third parties. We disclaim all liability for any unauthorized use, copying, distribution, or modification of downloaded Music Content. We may implement digital rights management (DRM) tools, watermarks, or other measures to discourage unauthorized sharing, but these are not guaranteed.

If you do not want your music to be downloadable, you should not upload it to the platform or disable download options if available.

Use of your music outside namepop.net — including radio airplay on 76Country.com or Mix76.com — requires a separate Music License Agreement or Royalty Release Form, which you may request through the Contact Us page.

4. Copyright Infringement Notifications (DMCA Compliance)

We respect intellectual property rights and comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe your copyright is infringed by Music Content on namepop.net, submit a notice to our designated DMCA Agent at:

DMCA Agent: michael.greeley@76country.com

Your notice must include:

  • Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  • Identification of the infringing material (with enough detail to locate it).
  • Your contact information.
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized.
  • A statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate.
  • Your signature or electronic signature.

We will promptly remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and notify the uploader, who may submit a counter-notice. We terminate accounts of repeat infringers.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MERAMEC ENTERTAINMENT, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE PLATFORM OR MUSIC CONTENT, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED $100. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

6. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Branson, Missouri, administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Commercial Arbitration Rules. You waive any right to participate in class actions. If arbitration is unavailable, disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts in Taney County, Missouri.

7. Severability & Updates

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. We may update these Terms with notice; continued use constitutes acceptance.

Membership FAQ

  1. Is namepop.net a public social network like Facebook or X? No. namepop.net is a private, invitation-only community. Unlike public platforms where anyone can register, our space is intentionally curated to maintain a safe, positive environment for a specific group of friends, families, and neighbors in the music industry.
  2. I have an invitation link—does that guarantee membership? No. Membership is a privilege, not a right. Meramec Entertainment, LLC may deny membership or terminate an account at any time, for any reason. We are especially selective regarding minors to protect the community’s integrity.
  3. What is the minimum age to join? Members must be at least 13 years old. Users under 13 are strictly prohibited from joining or using the platform.
  4. Why does a 15-year-old need parental consent while a 17-year-old does not? Members aged 13–16 require verifiable parental permission (email verification, signed form, etc.) to meet safety and data-protection standards. Seventeen-year-olds may join without formal consent, though parental monitoring is strongly encouraged.
  5. Can my account be deleted if I don’t use it? Yes. To protect user privacy and maintain a secure database, we delete inactive accounts after a prolonged period (typically 12 months). We only retain data as long as necessary to operate the platform.
  6. Can I post anything I want on my profile? We encourage sharing, but all “Member Content” must align with our commitment to a safe and positive community. We use encryption and access controls to protect your content, but we may suspend or terminate accounts that undermine community safety, including for IP violations.
  7. Can a parent revoke consent after granting it? Yes. Parents of users aged 13–16 may review their child’s information, request deletion, or revoke consent at any time. If consent is revoked, the account will be terminated immediately.
  8. Will my child’s data be used for targeted ads? No. Youth Members (13–16) are never tracked for targeted advertising. They only see general, contextual ads, and their data is never shared with third-party advertisers.
  9. Why do you ask for gender during signup? We use your name and gender for profile personalization. This helps friends find you and allows us to set up your profile so the site feels tailored to you.
  10. What should I do if I see bullying or harmful behavior? We use member data to detect and prevent bullying or fraud. Because membership is a privilege, we may revoke access—without prior notice—for any behavior that threatens the safety or integrity of the community.
  11. Do I still own the music I upload to namepop.net? Yes. You retain full ownership of all music, audio recordings, and creative works you upload. By posting your music on namepop.net, you simply grant us a limited license to host and display it within the platform. We do not claim ownership or royalties over your work.
  12. Can namepop.net use my music outside the platform? No. Your uploaded music is only used within namepop.net unless you choose to submit it separately for radio airplay consideration. Any use of your music on 76Country.com or Mix76.com requires a separate Music License Agreement or Royalty Release Form, which you may request through the Contact Us page.
  13. Am I responsible for making sure I have the rights to upload my music? Yes. You are responsible for ensuring that any music you upload is your original work or that you have permission to share it. Uploading copyrighted or unlicensed material without authorization may result in removal of the content or account suspension.
  14. What if my uploaded music is accused of infringement? We follow DMCA procedures and may remove it. You are responsible for defending any claims.
